EDITORIAL
Well, it's nice to be back. Before I go any further, let me have a final few words on this year's Goodwood Revival.
It was, without doubt, one of the best yet. One can only wonder what the organisers can come up with in 2009. There were so many cameos played out on– and off–track, it's hard for just one report to do the event justice. The school prefects (complete with a swot carrying a pile of books all afternoon) amused, and the Ferrari 250 GT SWB 'Breadvan' enthralled — while it was running.
Even the BRM V16 joined in the spirit of things by behaving perfectly in the pits — only to run very roughly on–track, as in period. Priceless stuff.
Back to the present. This week's ClassicInside has the latest news from the Paris Show, prior to a fuller feature and critical appraisal next week. And, lest you think that the events of the last few days have completely passed us by, can I offer an unexpected bonus to the luxury car manufacturers?
The Buryat people have 300 names for the ferocious winds that blow across Lake Baikal, in Siberia. Deciding on the correct appellation for the latest V12 GT is always a tough one — perhaps in the darkness there is light, after all?
